A student-run club at McMaster University participating in RoboCup competitions.
MAC RoboCup starts their RoboCup journey in the Rescue league.
Emergency responders perform hazardous tasks from a safe distance via rescue robots. Teams from around the world program robots through a mock disaster arena of ramps, stairs, rubble and mazes. The test methods have been run for 20+ years and are used to evaluate real response robots.
Across the tasks in the rulebook
Climb ramps and stairs, cross gravel, K-rails and pallet hurdles, and squeeze through doors.
Inspect hazmat labels, press e-stops, turn valves and sense heat, motion and sound in a victim crate.
Map a maze in 3D and find objects with little operator input, even when the radio link degrades.
